I have always been smart enough to back up all of my photos digitally. I keep them on memory cards, on an external hard drive and saved online on a photo sharing website. Why did I go through so much work to preserve my pictures when I had prints of most of them? Well, when my house went up in flames about three years ago, I learned exactly why all of my efforts were not lost. I have since been able to have all of those pictures re-printed and have them displayed throughout my new home.
